The second edition of the Vanilla Islands Pro-Am Tours will take place from the 7th to the 16th December 2018. The tournament will start in Reunion Island at Bassin Bleu Golf and Golf de Bourbon, and will carry on in Mauritius as from the 12th December on the golf courses of Tamarina and Avalon, as announced by Arvind Bundhun, Director of the MTPA, and Sandrine Petit, Group Director of Marketing & Communication at Sun Resorts (photo), one of the organisers of the event, during the press conference held at the MTPA Head Office.
Arvind Bundhun explained that one of the objectives of the tournament is to position the Vanilla Islands, including Mauritius and Reunion Island, differently so that they also become a reference in the world of sports. “Golfers and their families, who come mainly from France, will have the opportunity to discover the complementarity of the two different islands and to get a welcome worthy of our region”, he said. The international press, with namely Canal+, will also be attending the tournament.
Some hundred players are expected this year, proving the success of the first edition. “There will be 18 teams made up of three amateurs and one professional”, explained Sandrine Petit, while mentioning that Mauritians will, of course, be able to attend the event.
