Mauritius is still among the most sought after destinations on the French market. This time, the internet users have voted for the island as the preferred destination for the third year in a row, according to a survey done by We Like Travel, a Communication Agency specialised in social media and tourism. The announcement was made on Tuesday on the Mauritius stand at the IFTM Top Resa meeting in Paris, whilst the trophy was being handed to the minister of Tourism Anil Gayan.
With a score of 492 points (increased by 66 pts), Mauritius is ahead of Ireland (380 pts) and Flanders (339 pts). Dominican Republic, Italy, Thailand, Madagascar and United States were among the other destinations mentioned.
