Mauritius continue to note a constant increase in the number of tourist arrivals with 872 217 visitors for the first eight months of this year against 838 397 for the same period in 2017, representing 4% increase. 109 471 tourists came to Mauritius in August resulting in an increase of 9.3% compared to the same month last year. Despite a slight decrease of the French (-0.7%) and Reunion (-0.9%) markets, they remain the leading markets from January to August, followed by the United Kingdom. On the Asian market, China continues to decline (-9.9%) regardless of an increase of 10% in August.
