On Wednesday 14th November, Beachcomber Resorts & Hotels organised an exceptional sport event: the crossing of Mauritius – Reunion Island on kitesurf! Nine kitesurfers, amateurs and pros, took part in the event organised in collaboration with one of the group's main partners Sodis Travel. There were 6 Russian kiters, Vladimir Popov, co-owner and Manager of Sodis Travel, Vladimir Popov Junior, Andrey Grinshteyn, Braynin Vladimir, Belyaev Artem, Aksenov Konstantin (first kite boarder to cross the Bering Strait in 2011), Michel Hoffman from Luxembourg, and two Mauritians, Frederick Mohamed Khan Peerally and Brendon Labonne. After leaving Mauritius from Dinarobin Beachcomber, the sportsman achieved a distance of 175 km in relay mode across the sea, to reach Sainte Rose shore in Reunion Island.
