The AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open (ABMO) will be this year again a great golf event with the elite taking part at the Four Seasons Golf Club Mauritius at Anahita. After George Coetzee, Dylan Fritelli and Nicolas Colsaerts, among others, Ernie Els has confirmed his participation in this tournament sanctioned by the European Tour, Sunshine Tour and Asian Tour. Known as “The Big Easy”, the South-African golfer has recorded several victories, of which four major tournaments, namely the US Open in 1994 and 1997, and the British Open in 2002 and 2012.
Ernie Els is most known in Mauritius for having designed the stunning golf course at Anhita, on which he is looking forward to play. “It was a privilege to design this golf course and we’re thrilled with how it has matured in the past 10 years. One of its strengths is that we were able to maximise the visual impact of the surrounding scenery, but at the same time preserve the coastline’s natural beauty. […] It’s going to be a lot of fun playing it in tournament conditions.”
After the 2017 edition played at Heritage Golf Club, the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open will be back at Anahita from the 29th November to the 2nd December this year.
