In view of the World Clean Up Day, employees of Beachcomber Resorts & Hotels have been taking part in a plogging session on the 13th September in Curepipe. As from 3 pm, a hundred employees started picking up waste while jogging along Camp Caval and Forest Side streets as well as in the surroundings of the Dodo Club, equipped with gloves, garbage bags and their cheerfulness. This action forms part of the social responsibility philosophy of the group, which has obtained the EarthCheck international green label for all its hotels in Mauritius.
“We have chosen to organise that cleaning afternoon on the 13th September as this date is next to the World Clean Up Day held on the 15th September. On that day, participants from 150 countries mobilised to clean the planet. Beachcomber is one of the offices with the greatest number of employees in Curepipe. It was obvious for us to take part in this movement by cleaning our vicinity. It has also raised awareness among our employees,” says Mathieu Rivet, Group Engineer and member of the Green Committee of Beachcomber Resorts & Hotels.
