SALT, the brand recently launched by The Lux Collective, has been granted the international Positive Luxury label that guarantees the sustainable approach of the brands certified through a strict control in terms of holistic, ethical, social, environmental and innovative aspects of the brand. This label adds to the numerous actions made during the year by The Lux Collective, such as the Ray of Light and Tread Lightly, to direct its economic, social and environmental mission. Ray of Light is about the engagement of the stakeholders and the community in the projects of The Lux Collective to support the vulnerable groups and focus on several objectives of sustainable development (elimination of poverty, health, wellness, sex equality…). Thread Lightly, for its part, oversees the environment and ecological mission of The Lux Collective, with for example the installation of the photovoltaic plant on Deux Cocos Island, among other projects.
“Our strategy encourages the inclusive economic development. Our voluntary alignment on the regional and international guidelines such as the 17 objectives of the sustainable development of the united Nations, the 10 principles of UN Global Compact, the GRI standards, the IIRC (International Integrated Reporting Council), SIDS (Small Islands Development States) and other goals, allows us to move forward, beyond the commitment towards all the national regulations and contribute to the global progress of humanity. Besides, the Lux Collective is the first Mauritian hotel group to be listed on the sustainability index of the Stock Exchange of Mauritius”, explained Paul Jones, CEO of The Lux Collective. Moreover, all the hotels of The Lux Collective in Mauritius, Reunion Island and Maldives are also Green Globe certified.
